Abstract
The article presents a theoretical analysis of the cultural foundations of using digital collections in educational libraries in the context of innovative transformations in education. It is substantiated that digital collections should be considered not only as technological resources but also as carriers of cultural meanings that ensure the preservation, interpretation, and dissemination of scientific and cultural heritage. It is specified that the cultural foundations of using digital collections in educational libraries can be interpreted as a system of value-oriented principles, approaches, and norms that determine the creation, selection, structuring, interpretation, and application of digital resources, taking into account their cultural significance, educational relevance, and socio-cultural context. Based on the analysis of scientific sources, the essence of the concepts «digital collection» and «digital collection of educational libraries» is defined, as well as their functional purpose in the modern educational and scientific environment. The study systematizes the main cultural foundations of using digital collections, including axiological, hermeneutic, communicative, integrative, activity-based, innovative-technological, culture-forming, and security-ethical ones. It is proved that their implementation ensures the integration of digital resources into the educational process, promotes the formation of cultural and information competence of learners, the development of critical thinking, and their integration into the global information and cultural space. It is established that modern educational libraries are transforming into multifunctional digital cultural and information centers that play a key role in ensuring the quality of education, developing scientific communication, and supporting innovative educational practices. It is concluded that cultural foundations serve as a methodological basis for the effective use of digital collections and determine the prospects for their development in the context of the digital society.
