Abstract
The article examines the psychological traumatization of parents of primary school children under conditions of prolonged war in Ukraine. The study involved 105 parents of primary school students in Kyiv and used the Life Events Checklist for DSM-5 (LEC-5) to identify the most prevalent potentially traumatic experiences. The findings indicate the leading role of direct exposure to shelling, prolonged stays in shelters, separation from family members, relatives’ participation in combat, and experiences of a real threat to one’s own life. The study highlights the influence of parents’ psycho-emotional state on children’s sense of safety and psychological well-being. Key directions for psychological support of families experiencing prolonged wartime stress are identified.
