Abstract
The article presents a theoretical analysis of psychological trauma in primary school-age children affected by armed conflict. The main theoretical approaches to understanding the mechanisms of psychological traumatization, the consequences of acute and chronic trauma, and its manifestations in the emotional, cognitive, behavioral, and social spheres are considered. International experience in providing psychological support to children affected by armed conflicts is analyzed, with particular attention to Israeli models of psychosocial support, resilience development, and school-centered approaches. The key findings of Ukrainian researchers concerning children’s trauma-related reactions and psychological support in wartime are summarized. Based on the theoretical analysis, the main scientifically grounded ways of correcting the consequences of war-related psychological trauma in primary school-age children are identified, including the creation of a psychologically safe educational environment, psychoeducation, play and art therapy, trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, resilience development, work with parents, systematic support within educational institutions, as well as neuropsychological and body-oriented approaches. The necessity of providing comprehensive and systemic psychological support to children experiencing prolonged war-related traumatization is substantiated.
