Abstract
The presentation examines adaptability as a means of actualizing Vasyl Sukhomlynsky’s pedagogical heritage in the contemporary museum and library space. It substantiates the need to move from preserving heritage to creating conditions for its active communication with contemporary society. The adaptive potential of museums and libraries is interpreted as their capacity to transform the ways in which pedagogical sources are presented in accordance with the needs and experiences of different audiences while preserving the depth and complexity of the heritage. Traditional, digital, and interactive forms of museum and library work are characterized, including exhibitions, educational programmes, virtual exhibitions, digital collections, electronic catalogues, digitized publications, multimedia materials, and online programmes. The presentation highlights the potential of cooperation between museums and libraries in providing access to documents, books, and other sources of pedagogical heritage. Particular attention is paid to combining original documents with contemporary ways of presenting them and connecting historical materials with questions relevant to contemporary education. Museums and libraries are viewed as spaces for intergenerational dialogue in which Sukhomlynsky’s heritage becomes not only a part of the history of pedagogy but also a resource for understanding contemporary education and enabling each subsequent generation to reinterpret this heritage.
