Abstract

The article presents a methodology for using the Google Gemini ecosystem to develop the professional competence of STEM teachers. Within the study, the Google Gemini ecosystem is presented not as a set of individual services, but as a holistic multimodal professional teacher’s space that integrates a family of models (Flash, Pro, Deep Research, Thinking Mode), each of which is optimized for solving specific types of didactic tasks. The functional potential of the Flash model for automating routine tasks is revealed, along with the Pro model, which acts as a "creative tutor" for designing lesson scenarios. Particular attention is paid to the Deep Research mode, which ensures the academic rigor of research activities through critical source comparison and automated formation of scientific hypotheses within an isolated dialogue environment. The methodological aspect of the research is based on the development of professional prompt engineering skills, consisting of five components: the role of AI, target audience, teaching methodology, specific task, and output format. The use of Storybook and Imagen3 tools is presented, allowing the teacher to create interactive illustrated books, complex visualizations of natural processes, and audio accompaniment, engaging various channels of student perception in a multisensory learning approach. Particular attention is given to the use of the Canvas environment as a professional "desktop" within the chat. The Canvas toolkit allows teachers of science and mathematics to create digital educational products without third-party software: from designer web presentations to functional interactive simulators. The proposed approach transforms the teacher’s role: they transition from a user of ready-made content into a manager of didactic material. The practical significance of the work lies in providing STEM teachers with a ready-made methodological algorithm for creating autonomous interactive resources that enhance the quality of STEM education amidst modern challenges.
