Abstract
The article explores the pedagogical potential of generative artificial intelligence (AI) services in the process of STEM education digitalization in Ukraine. The role of cloud-based technologies as a critical factor in ensuring the resilience and continuity of the educational process in Ukraine under martial law is considered. The main focus is on the analysis of three AI services: ChatGPT, Gemini, and Gemini Notebook. Despite the significant spread of generative artificial intelligence tools, there is a deficit of comparative research in pedagogy that would allow teachers to choose a particular platform for solving specific didactic tasks in natural sciences and mathematics disciplines. There is a need to substantiate the criteria for choosing AI services based on their functionality, content generation accuracy, localization level, and compliance with data privacy requirements. A separate problem is students' trust in generated AI results, which is often accompanied by the phenomena of "hallucinations" in general-purpose models. Based on the analysis of technical parameters and pedagogical experience of using AI, it has been established that ChatGPT acts as a universal assistant, effective for generating educational content, lesson plans, and interactive tutoring. Gemini has an advantage in analyzing technical data (specifically handwritten formulas and graphs) and creating subject-oriented assistants (Gems), which simplifies the organization of laboratory research. Particular attention is paid to the Gemini Notebook service, which, thanks to the RAG architecture, minimizes the risks of AI hallucinations by working exclusively with user sources. This allows for activating students' research activities through work with primary sources. The inclusive potential of the studied services is substantiated: "Advanced Voice Mode" in ChatGPT and Gemini, as well as the "Audio Overviews" function in Gemini Notebook, create conditions for teaching students with motor impairments and dyslexia, promoting the development of an auditory learning style. The level of localization is assessed, which provides full support for the Ukrainian language in all three services.
