Abstract

The article presents the introductory provisions and analyzes the current state of research on the activities of educational libraries in Ukraine under the conditions of the digitalization of education and science. Emphasis is placed on the role of educational libraries as an important component of information support for education, pedagogical science and practice; their functioning under martial law is also highlighted. A review of the scholarly works of domestic and foreign researchers devoted to the issues of implementing digital technologies, developing electronic resources, and organizing information and bibliographic services is carried out. The significance of best library practices is substantiated as effective models of innovative activity that contribute to improving service quality, optimizing user services, and shaping the modern image of libraries. The role of bibliographic indexes as tools for the systematization, generalization, and dissemination of professional experience is determined. The content and structure of the scholarly auxiliary bibliographic index Library in the Era of Digitalization of Education and Science, prepared by the V. O. Sukhomlynskyi State Scientific and Pedagogical Library of Ukraine, are characterized. Its importance for the information support of specialists, the popularization of resources, and the reflection of current trends in the development of librarianship is demonstrated, in particular the expansion of digital services, the use of social media, and the creation of proprietary multimedia content. The best practices of educational libraries for the period 2022–2024 are examined in the context of the informatization of society and the full-scale Russian-Ukrainian war. The main directions of best practices in educational libraries are identified, including the implementation of information and communication technologies, the development of electronic libraries and repositories, the creation of web resources, and the formation of users’ information and media literacy. The necessity of further generalization and dissemination of such experience within the professional community is emphasized as an important condition for the effective functioning of libraries in the digital society.
