Abstract
The article states that contemporary social transformations caused by systemic crises and security challenges fundamentally alter the conditions of personality development. In late adolescence, this influence manifests through the deformation of time perspective, which becomes a key predictor of life strategy choices. The situation of chronic uncertainty forces young people to reconsider approaches to planning, shifting the focus from long-term development to tactical survival. The psychological nature of a life strategy lies in the ability to integrate past experience and construct an image of the future. However, prolonged psychological trauma leads to the disintegration of this structure, causing a state of existential emptiness. A fixation on fatalism is often observed, where belief in one’s own agency is replaced by a sense of helplessness in the face of circumstances. An external locus of control becomes an obstacle to self-regulation, turning the adolescent into a passive participant in events. The analysis of adaptive models makes it possible to distinguish several types of attitudes toward life paths among older adolescents today. The most resilient are individuals with an active-projective strategy, who perceive difficulties as a resource for growth. At the same time, reflective ambivalence is widespread, when the desire for success is inhibited by internal anxiety and fear of making mistakes. Situational adaptation through moment-oriented behavior provides temporary stability but limits opportunities for strategic self-determination. The most vulnerable group remains those prone to avoidance, for whom the future appears uncontrollable. An important stabilizing factor is the integration of personal goals into a social context, particularly through the idea of social recovery and reconstruction. This helps overcome feelings of hopelessness and fosters a proactive position. Thus, despite the high level of tension, most adolescents retain the capacity for goal setting. Psychological support should focus on restoring the integrity of time perspective and developing self-regulation skills under conditions of uncertainty.
