Abstract

The report outlines the performance and achievements of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine (NAES of Ukraine) during the period 2017–2026—a decade marked by profound societal challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic and the russian federation’s war of aggression against Ukraine. The Academy focused its efforts on providing academic, methodological, psychological, and expert support to foster the development of education and science, sustain their resilience and continuity, and lay the scientific groundwork for Ukraine’s post-war recovery and European integration. The report details the implementation of strategic and programme goals, structural reforms within the NAES of Ukraine, improvements in governance, research management and funding, as well as measures to enhance the practical application and dissemination of the Academy’s research findings. Key outcomes of fundamental and applied research in pedagogy, psychology, educational digitalisation, and human capital development are synthesised. Special emphasis is placed on academic and methodological support for the New Ukrainian School reform, the digital transformation of education, inclusive learning, addressing learning loss, psychological support and resilience-building, fostering Ukrainian national and civic identity, and military-patriotic education. Dedicated sections highlight the integration of research outcomes into educational, managerial, and social practice; experimental, analytical, expert, and publishing activities; digital infrastructure enhancement; support for early-career researchers; and international academic cooperation. A multi-channel system for knowledge exchange and transfer has been established, bridging practical implementation, dissemination, evidence-based policy advising, and legal framework development. The report demonstrates active engagement between the NAES of Ukraine and government authorities, research institutions, educational establishments, civil society organisations, and international partners. The Academy’s work throughout 2017–2026 reaffirms its role as a vital institutional resource for ensuring the resilience of Ukrainian education and science, human potential development, national unity, and expert-led support for the recovery and modernisation of Ukraine. The publication is intended for researchers, educators, educational leaders and administrators, policy-makers, and all professionals involved in research, experimental development, and advisory support within pedagogy, psychology, and education.
