Abstract

A schedule and thematic plan for Foreign literature lessons for the 5th grade (pilot program), based on a workload of 1 hour per week, is presented. The plan was developed in accordance with the foreign literature curriculum for grades 5–6 (authors – T. O. Yatsenko, I. A. Tryhub). It specifies the optimal number of hours for the close study of texts and for extracurricular reading, and allocates time for language development, expressive reading, and the consolidation and systematization of the material learned. Literary theory concepts to be understood during the analysis of literary works are identified. Works from various art forms are recommended to facilitate a holistic understanding of the topics.
