Abstract

The preprint presents analytical materials on teachers’ self-assessments of digital competence, as well as the results of nationwide teacher surveys conducted in 2023 and 2024, highlighting their attitudes towards the use of digital tools for teaching and learning in wartime conditions. It provides an overview of international frameworks related to digital competence. The publication addresses teachers’ competence in the use of information and communication technologies (ICT) and presents an example of teachers’ self-assessment of their use of AI, virtual reality, and augmented reality in implementing STE(A)M projects. The publication describes theoretical approaches and practical experience in organising surveys of teachers. It outlines proposals for the digitalisation of education, the development of teachers’ digital competence, and the enhancement of their professional qualifications. Theoretical approaches and practical developments concerning the use of ICT in professional education and teacher professional development are also presented. The publication is intended for teachers, researchers, education administrators, lecturers, doctoral and postgraduate students, university students, and the wider educational community. The present study is based on data from the 2024 nationwide survey previously reported by an analytical preprint [40]. The present analytical materials provide a revised and expanded analysis of these data, with a particular focus on teachers’ digital competence, technology use, and professional development needs in the wartime conditions.
