Abstract

The abstract presents the current issues and prospects for reforming the IT education system in Ukraine amidst new socio-economic, digital, and security challenges. The initiatives of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine regarding the digital transformation of the educational environment are analyzed, and general as well as level-specific factors hindering the sector's development (including teacher shortages, bureaucratization, outdated curricula, and weak public-private partnerships) are systematized. Three models of the educational system's response to these challenges are highlighted: creating innovative forms, catch-up transformation, and the imitation of changes. Based on a SWOT analysis, the author justifies the need for a comprehensive and systemic reform of IT education through the development of a Development Strategy, relevant concepts, and action roadmaps.
