Abstract

The publication reveals the essence of developing gifted students’ scientific thinking within the system of continuing education under wartime conditions. Scientific thinking is regarded as a multidimensional integrative ability that combines logical, critical, divergent, convergent, integrative, and reflective strategies of cognitive activity. Its main structural components are identified: informational and knowledge-based, cognitive and operational, reflective and evaluative, intentional and axiological, and innovative and creative. The study emphasizes that the development of scientific thinking promotes students’ intellectual autonomy, their ability to conduct reasoned analysis, integrate knowledge across disciplines, generate new ideas, and engage in independent research. The necessity of systematic psychological and pedagogical support for gifted students is substantiated, along with the creation of a safe, accessible, and flexible educational environment and the application of problem-based, project-based, inquiry-based, and STEM-oriented learning. Particular attention is paid to ensuring the continuity of education, access to diverse information sources, and the development of self-assessment and scientific communication skills. It is concluded that fostering scientific thinking is an important prerequisite for preserving the intellectual potential of gifted students, supporting their adaptation to the educational challenges of wartime, and preparing them for innovative and research-oriented activities.
