Abstract

This article presents the history of the invention, establishment, and origins of the Ukrainian Citation Index (UInCit) — a national system for scientometric monitoring of scientific entities in Ukraine, designed to collect, process, analyze, and provide access to data on the publication activity and citation rates of researchers and scientific institutions. The system aims to provide analytical support for the development of Ukraine’s scientific community, to determine the role of scientists and institutions in the formation of national scientific schools, and to monitor the effectiveness of scientific activity.
