The study analyzes the process of forming civic identity in the digital space in the context of modern social transformations. It summarizes scientific approaches to understanding the concept of digital citizenship. It identifies the role of social networks, online platforms, and e-democracy tools in the formation of value orientations, civic activity, and participation models. It establishes that the digital environment contributes to the development of new forms of citizenship that combine online and offline interaction practices, ensure the rapid dissemination of information, and strengthen civic solidarity. The article analyzes the regulatory and legal foundations of forming civic identity in Ukraine, in particular in the field of education and digitalization, and also characterizes the current state of scientific research by domestic scientists. It determines that in the Ukrainian context, digital technologies play an important role in the processes of self-organization of society, especially in the context of socio-political challenges. It examines foreign practices of forming digital citizenship in the EU and the USA, where a more systematic and institutionalized approach is observed. It includes the development of digital competencies, the protection of digital rights and the implementation of egovernance. A comparative analysis was conducted and common trends and differences related to the level of institutional support, regulatory regulation and digital literacy of the population were identified. The prospects for the development of effective models of civic identity formation in the digital environment were substantiated, in particular through a combination of educational, technological and social tools that will contribute to an active civic position and the strengthening of democratic processes.
