Abstract

This publication identifies the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies as a tool for implementing the principles of open science in educational research, and outlines the key challenges and prospects for their implementation in the activities of scientific institutions. The analysis conducted demonstrates that AI serves as a powerful catalyst for the development of open science in the field of educational research. Its tools enable the automation of scientific data management processes (annotation, metadata generation, and compliance checks), improve data accessibility and interoperability, ensure effective monitoring of FAIR principles, and facilitate knowledge synthesis and the identification of new research directions. At the same time, the effective integration of AI is impossible without addressing a number of challenges: ensuring algorithm transparency and the reproducibility of results, preventing model bias, protecting personal data, and improving researchers’ digital literacy. The ethical aspects of AI use require special attention in the field of educational sciences, as this field is directly linked to the development of human potential and social justice. Prospects for further research lie in the development of institutional policies for the use of AI in scientific data management, the creation of training programs for researchers to work with AI tools, and the development of methods for assessing the quality and transparency of algorithms used in educational research. The further development of open science in Ukraine will largely depend on the scientific community’s ability to integrate the potential of AI while remaining committed to the fundamental principles of scientific integrity, transparency, and social responsibility.
