Abstract
The article analyzes the impact of multiple losses caused by war on the process of personality transformation and the formation of a new civil-military identity in Ukraine. The phenomena of traumatic grief (due to violent death) and indefinite loss (in cases of disappearance or captivity) are considered, which become barriers to the classic experience of grief and require special adaptation mechanisms. The authors argue that civil-military identity arises as a protective reaction to total vulnerability, when a civilian adopts military logic, values, and "optics" to overcome powerlessness. Changes are highlighted at the cognitive (narrowing of the time horizon), emotional ("freezing" of feelings), and behavioral (militarization of everyday life) levels. It has been proven that the practice of micro-achievements and the integration of "I-in-time-of-war" into a holistic life narrative allow us to transform trauma into an experience of resilience, providing a basis for further recovery and social reintegration.
