Abstract
Publishing research data in accordance with the FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) in the scientific community is no longer merely a recommendation but a requirement of many international journals, funding agencies, and repositories. However, the process of preparing and publishing FAIR data involves a number of practical aspects that are often overlooked by researchers. Failure to account for these nuances results in data that is formally considered published but is, in fact, not discoverable, accessible, interoperable, or reusable. The aim of this work is to systematize the key requirements and practical steps that researchers must consider for the successful publication of FAIR data. Publishing FAIR data is not a one-time act of uploading files, but a systematic process that encompasses repository selection, data preparation, metadata creation, legal support, and linking to publications. Successfully addressing all these aspects transforms a dataset from a passive appendix to an article into an independent, cited, and reusable scientific product. For researchers in the education sector, where a culture of data publication is still emerging, adhering to these recommendations is crucial for integrating into the international scientific community and enhancing the transparency of their own research.
