Abstract

The article summarises the results of a methodological seminar devoted to the transformation of vocational education in Ukraine under the conditions of contemporary civilisational and national challenges. It is demonstrated that the development of the educational system is influenced by war, globalisation, digitalisation, integration processes, and structural changes in the labour market, which necessitate its comprehensive renewal. The aim of the study is to substantiate strategic directions for the development of vocational education based on systemic, competence-based, and prognostic approaches. The methodological framework is grounded in systemic and interdisciplinary approaches, methods of theoretical analysis, synthesis, generalisation, content analysis of seminar materials, as well as structural-logical and comparative methods. The empirical basis is formed by the results of expert discussions involving representatives of education, science, government, and employers. Key challenges in the development of vocational education are summarised, and relevant methodological approaches are identified, including systemic, competence-based, integration, digital, inclusive, and andragogical approaches. Strategic directions for the modernisation of education are substantiated: updating the content of training programmes, developing dual education, implementing digital technologies and artificial intelligence, strengthening inclusion, developing adult education, enhancing partnerships with employers, and improving the quality assurance system in education. The research results made it possible to construct a model of vocational education transformation that ensures coherence between strategic and operational levels of its development in the context of Ukraine’s post-war recovery.
