Abstract

The article examines the issue of using the results of educational monitoring studies for the development of teachers’ professional development programmes. It substantiates that the effectiveness of teacher professional development largely depends on the adaptation of educational programme content to the actual professional needs of teachers identified through educational quality monitoring and assessment studies. The study identifies the main factors that reduce the effectiveness of the current professional development system in Ukraine, including the formal nature of in-service training, insufficient application of the evidence-based approach, and the weak integration of empirical data into the content of teacher training programmes. The conditions necessary for designing effective professional development programmes are analysed, including a focus on practical skills, the implementation of flexible and blended learning formats, and the functioning of professional learning communities. It is concluded that the systematic use of educational monitoring results contributes to the development of individual professional growth trajectories for teachers and enhances the overall quality of education.
