Abstract

Higher education institutions (HEIs) today face complex global challenges: climate change, inequality and rapid digitalization. Traditional models of education require rethinking, as internationalization has evolved from simple mobility to a strategic tool for social change. Digital transformation (Globalization 4.0) creates new opportunities for the localization of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), but at the same time deepens the digital divide, which makes the topic of integrating these processes critically important for the survival and development of academic institutions in the 21st century. The new paradigm of higher education can be perceived as a synthesis, where three interrelated directions are combined into a single framework: the SDGs, internationalization as a way to renew the content and culture of HEIs, as well as digital transformation, which transforms the very mechanisms of learning, management and interaction with society.
