Abstract

The study substantiates methodological approaches to the design and application of an educational chatbot as an innovative digital tool for shaping the environmental worldview of student youth. The relevance of the research is обусловлена the need to modernize environmental education in the context of digitalization, as well as the necessity to develop students’ environmental knowledge, values, and responsible behavior. The essence of an educational chatbot is defined as a software tool that enables automated dialogic interaction and performs instructional, organizational, and assessment functions. The key principles of its development (interactivity, accessibility, visualization, consistency, personalization, and practical orientation) are revealed, and a staged methodology for its creation is characterized, including analytical, design, technological, content, and evaluative stages. The author’s educational chatbot “EcoMind Bot,” developed on the basis of Telegram using BotFather and the SendPulse platform, is presented. Its structure, functional capabilities, and interactive elements are described, including learning modules, feedback systems, tests, quizzes, and gamification features. The expediency of using a multi-level learning model (levels A, B, C) is substantiated, ensuring the gradual formation of environmental knowledge, the development of critical thinking, and the establishment of environmentally responsible behavior. The methodological features of chatbot implementation in the educational process are identified, including the integration of interactive activities, individualized learning, and prompt feedback. It is proven that the use of an educational chatbot enhances students’ motivation, activates their cognitive engagement, and contributes to the effective formation of an environmental worldview. The research findings confirm the feasibility of integrating digital tools into environmental education as an important factor in its modernization.
