Abstract
in today’s information space. It notes the impact of digitalization and digital transformation in this context on the development of educational environments and their construction based on the principles of open science. It is noted that open access to multifaceted educational information resources is becoming an increasingly significant factor in the European integration of the Ukrainian educational community. The focus is on the scientific output of the Department of Scientific, Information, and Analytical Support for Education at the V. Sukhomlynskyi State Scientific and Educational Library of Ukraine, in the context of the applied research conducted by its researchers during 2023–2025. In particular, emphasis is placed on intensifying the research process in the first, conceptual-analytical stage of the scientific study ‘Scientific and Analytical Support for the Development of a Unified Information Space for Open Education’ (2026–2028). The purpose of this article is to highlight the issue of scientific and analytical support for open education, which has not yet been fully clarified, researched, or synthesized. The authors argue that this thematic focus stems from the need within Ukraine’s education sector to identify new models of educational processes that will address the challenges of the new phase in the development of the information society –‘Society 5.0’ and ‘Education 5.0’– and ensure Ukraine’s integration into the global educational and scientific community. This study analyzes the body of work by Ukrainian researchers on the development of open education in Ukraine, generalizes and conceptualizes the term ‘open education,’ and identifies the main aspects and trends in the development of open education in Ukraine. It is concluded that scientific and analytical support for open education in Ukraine is a priority foundation for both current and future scientific research; it is currently undergoing active development and, despite certain challenges, holds significant prospects for further study and implementation. This article is a theoretical and analytical study and a synthesis of existing research.
