Abstract

The thesis presents a comprehensive study of the use of a computer-oriented learning environment to develop teachers’ entrepreneurial competence in postgraduate education. The study's conceptual and categorical framework has been refined, and the characteristics of the computer-oriented learning environment (COLE) for developing teachers’ entrepreneurial competence have been described. The concept of a computer-oriented learning environment for the development of teachers’ entrepreneurial competence has been refined as an educational environment based on information and communication technologies and digital resources that creates organisational and pedagogical conditions for the development of teachers’ entrepreneurial competence, professional self-improvement, experience exchange, planning and organization of educational activities, and interaction with students, parents, and the community based on the development of entrepreneurial skills, abilities, and competencies. Guided by international documents, in particular the Entrepreneurship Competence Framework, we believe that a digital educational environment for the development of entrepreneurial competence provides teachers with ideas and opportunities, resources, and guidance for practical action. Domestic and foreign experience of the use of a computer-oriented learning environment (COLE) for the development of teachers’ entrepreneurial competence and professional activity has been presented, and the stages of the formation and development of entrepreneurship and financial literacy education in Ukraine have been identified. A conceptual vision of the use of the COLE based on national and international approaches and policy documents has been presented. The author’s vision of the process of using the COLE for the development of teachers’ entrepreneurial competence in the system of postgraduate pedagogical education has been developed and substantiated, which should be implemented through the creation of appropriate conditions and the use of innovative digital tools, resources, and instruments of the educational environment. A model of a computer-oriented educational environment as a tool for developing teachers’ entrepreneurial competence has been developed and scientifically substantiated. The model includes the following blocks: target, methodological, organisational, content-related, technological, and outcome blocks. The main components of the methodology for using the COLE toolkit as a tool for developing teachers’ entrepreneurial competence have been developed. The implementation of the methodology is based on the author’s methodological recommendations, “Use of Digital Resources for the Development of Teachers’ Entrepreneurial Competence.” The criteria for assessing teachers’ entrepreneurial competence in the COLE have been substantiated: cognitive, value-motivational, activity-based, and reflective; and the levels: low, medium, and high. The results of the experimental study allowed the conclusion that the proposed methodology is effective and can be recommended for implementation in the system of postgraduate teacher education. Recommendations on the use of the COLE as a tool for developing teachers’ entrepreneurial competence have been provided. Scientific novelty and theoretical meaning of the research: – for the first time, the characteristics of a computer-oriented environment as a means of developing teachers’ entrepreneurial competence in postgraduate education in the context of European integration processes have been identified and disclosed; a model of a computer-oriented environment for the development of teachers’ entrepreneurial competence has been developed and substantiated; the main stages of the evolution of the computer-oriented learning environment (COLE) for the development of teachers’ entrepreneurial competence have been determined, and strategic approaches to the development of teachers’ entrepreneurial competence in EU countries have been identified. Four stages in the development of the COLE for the development of teachers’ entrepreneurial competence have been identified: Stage I (2008–2010) – the formation of the idea of entrepreneurial education, adoption of international policy and strategic documents (EU). This stage is characterized by drawing educators’ attention to labor market needs, focusing on youth career guidance, the emergence of distance courses in entrepreneurship and financial literacy, and the use of ICT in school environments and postgraduate teacher education; Stage II (2010–2017) – the creation and dissemination of ICT tools in the postgraduate education system, the development and distribution of educational and methodological support for entrepreneurial education, including online entrepreneurship resources; Stage III (2017–2019) – the development of framework foundations of entrepreneurial education, the emergence of educational standards, and the application of an integrated approach to the implementation and formation of entrepreneurial competencies, including through digital technologies; Stage IV (from 2020 to the present) – the development of digital educational environments for entrepreneurial education in the system of postgraduate pedagogical education. Criteria and levels for assessing teachers’ entrepreneurial competence in the COLE have been developed; a procedure for creating and using the COLE in teacher professional development has been designed (a progress model in the context of European integration processes). The content of the concept of a computer-oriented learning environment for the development of teachers’ entrepreneurial competence has been refined as an educational environment based on information and communication technologies and digital resources that creates organizational and pedagogical conditions for the development of teachers’ entrepreneurial competence, professional self-improvement, experience exchange, planning and organization of educational activities, and interaction with students, parents, and the community based on the development of entrepreneurial skills, abilities, and competencies. The foundations for using information and communication technologies and digital tools in education have been enhanced to develop teachers’ entrepreneurial competence, focusing on entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and professional development. The practical significance of the research results lies in the development of: the main components of a methodology for using the COLE as a means of developing teachers’ entrepreneurial competence; methodological recommendations titled “Use of Digital Resources for the Development of Teachers’ Entrepreneurial Competence,” which include a calendar-thematic plan for 18 academic hours and contain four modules: Module I – Theoretical Foundations of Teachers’ Entrepreneurial Competence Development; Module II – Practical Aspects of Developing Teachers’ Entrepreneurial Competence through Digital Tools; Module III – Implementation of Teachers’ Entrepreneurial Initiatives through Educational Projects; Module IV – Final Self-Assessment and Reflection on Teachers’ Entrepreneurial Competence. A teacher survey toolkit (online questionnaires) using digital tools for the development of teachers’ entrepreneurial competence has also been developed. The materials of the dissertation can be used to develop professional development programs on the use of the COLE for the development of teachers’ entrepreneurial competence in institutions of postgraduate pedagogical education, in higher pedagogical education institutions for training students of pedagogical specialties, for professional development of school administrators, and for the development of textbooks and methodological recommendations on the creation and use of the COLE as a mean of developing teachers’ entrepreneurial competence.
