Abstract

The article examines the issue of developing educational autonomy among students of specialized secondary education as a key factor in their successful adaptation to higher education institutions. The authors analyze modern challenges, including the digitalization of education, the personalization of the learning process, and the need to develop students’ independence in choosing and organizing their own educational trajectory. The study focuses on the insufficient level of learning motivation and self-organization skills among graduates of general secondary education institutions, which complicates their adaptation to higher education. It has been found that the lack of an adequate level of autonomy can lead to decreased academic performance and reduced engagement in the learning process. The article analyzes approaches to the development of educational autonomy, including cognitive, activity-based, personality-oriented, sociocultural, and innovative-technological approaches. The role of individual educational trajectories, mentoring, digital technologies, and project-based learning in fostering student autonomy is identified. The study results confirm that personalized learning contributes to the development of educational autonomy, which, in turn, enhances graduates’ readiness for further education. The authors emphasize the need for a comprehensive approach to developing autonomy, including teacher support, the development of reflective thinking, and the implementation of modern pedagogical technologies. The prospects for further research are outlined, including the analysis of the effectiveness of various educational autonomy development methods, the impact of motivation and emotional intelligence on students’ independence. In conclusion, it is emphasized that increasing the level of educational autonomy among specialized secondary education students is a necessary condition for effective adaptation to the educational environment of higher education institutions and ensuring high-quality training of future professionals.
