Abstract
The article examines the issue of developing leadership competencies among high school students as a strategically important task of modern education. It is determined that the development of leadership skills contributes to students' self-realization, enhances their responsibility, initiative, and ability to work in a team. The pedagogical conditions that promote effective leadership development are analyzed, including the creation of an appropriate educational environment, the use of active learning methods, mentoring, tutoring support, and digital technologies. It is established that competency-based, activity-based, and personality-oriented approaches are key to achieving this goal. Particular attention is given to the analysis of factors influencing the development of leadership competencies, including pedagogical, social, psychological, and organizational aspects. Specifically, the importance of teaching methods, student self-governance, and support from teachers and families in shaping communication skills, critical thinking, responsibility, and independence is emphasized. The necessity of integrating leadership competencies into the educational process is substantiated to ensure academic success and professional preparation of students. The prospects for further research are outlined, which may focus on the implementation of innovative educational technologies, the impact of gamification, virtual and augmented reality on the development of management skills, the development of adaptive learning programs, and the analysis of the effectiveness of different teaching styles. Further scientific exploration in this area will contribute to improving pedagogical practices and enhancing students' readiness for future professional activities. A special emphasis is placed on the necessity of integrating leadership competencies into general secondary education programs at the national level. It is crucial to develop a comprehensive strategy that includes collaboration between educational institutions, employers, and society to foster management skills, teamwork, and critical thinking among future leaders.
