Abstract
The article presents an analysis of the problem of social interaction in conditions of increasing instability and uncertainty as a special background of public life due to the war initiated by the Russian Federation against Ukraine, and the problem of attitude towards uncertainty. It is noted that situations of uncertainty immerse a person in specific psychological states associated with the attitude towards uncertainty (its perception, experience, coping strategies), which affects social interaction at the level of society, individual social groups, communities, and at the individual level (as readiness or ability to unite). In such conditions, social interaction may be accompanied by contradictions or even conflicts of worldviews, goals, and interests, which will strengthen the tendency to weaken trust and negatively affect social cohesion. At the same time, uncertainty can also open up new opportunities, choices, and freedoms, establish new internal and external supports, connections, and increase people's readiness to unite. Attention is focused on the fact that when uncertainty is perceived as a common challenge, a tolerant attitude towards uncertainty contributes to the formation of a sense of unity, and the readiness to trust and cooperate increases the level of mutual support, strengthens connections, promotes cohesion, and allows for faster recovery after crisis events. Whereas an intolerant attitude towards uncertainty can increase fear, distrust of others, vulnerability to manipulation, and due to fear of the unknown, contribute to avoiding broader interaction and refusal to participate. Such an attitude towards uncertainty is a risk factor for social activity, can cause passivity, increase anxiety levels, heightened aggression, and provoke the emergence of risk-prone interaction. It is determined that the development of the ability to be tolerant of uncertain conditions of life and to show subjectivity in its application can become one of the factors for activating social interaction to achieve social cohesion and the ability to resist internal and external threats.
