Abstract

Abstract: the relevance of researching modern practices for quality assurance in vocational education and training (VET) of future service sector specialists is determined by the need for flexible responsiveness of VET to business demands. The service sector is characterized by a wide range of activities and diverse organizational forms of development, offering employment opportunities for all categories of the population. High-quality vocational training of future specialists for the service sector, in synergy with the labor market, is an important prerequisite for the socio-economic development of the state and its regions. Purpose of the study: to characterize modern practices of quality assurance in vocational education and training of future service sector specialists. Research methods: analysis of legislative acts and regulatory documents – to examine the structure of the vocational education quality assurance system and the functioning features of its components (internal quality assurance system of vocational education; external quality assurance system of vocational education); analysis and synthesis – to study quality assurance systems in vocational education and training of future service sector specialists; generalization and systematization – to identify the specific features of modern quality assurance in vocational education and training of future service sector specialists. The main results of the study: key changes in educational legislation concerning the functioning of the components of the vocational education quality assurance system have been analyzed; the directions (educational environment of a vocational education institution; assessment system of learners; pedagogical activities of teaching staff; management processes of a vocational education institution) and procedures for the functioning of the internal quality assurance system in vocational education institutions have been substantiated; the interdependence of the internal quality assurance system on the availability of effective instruments, procedures, and measures related to the external quality assurance system (standardization, licensing of educational activities, institutional audit, monitoring of education quality, attestation of teaching staff, certification of teaching staff) has been clarified; best practices for ensuring the quality of vocational education and training of future service sector specialists have been identified. Conclusions and prospects for further research: modern practices of quality assurance in vocational education and training of future service sector specialists are based on compliance with vocational education legislation, integration and implementation of innovations in partnership with the labor market, ensuring alignment of learning outcomes with the competency-based approach, and expanding international cooperation of vocational education institutions aimed at ensuring quality in accordance with European quality standards. Prospects for further research lie in developing recommendations for improving the national vocational education quality assurance system based on international experience.
