Abstract

The study is aimed at analysing the factors of influence that determine the development of education in Ukraine at the present stage. The study is theoretical and based on the analysis of legislative, conceptual and strategic documents. Two external factors were identified for the study. The factors of influence include Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine, which began on 24 February 2022, and Ukraine's obtaining the status of a candidate for EU membership in 2022. The analysis of the documents shows that in order to ensure the resilience of the education system, Ukraine has approved a number of documents that create conditions for the safety of participants in the educational process (construction of shelters, introduction of distance or blended learning in regions near the war zone, provision of psychological support for teachers, students and parents, etc.). Ukraine's EU candidate status has accelerated the European integration of the national education. Based on the analysis of the Roadmap for European Integration of Ukraine in the Areas of Education and Science until 2027 (2023) and the Strategic Plan of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine until 2027 "Education of Winners” (2024), it was stated the goal of Ukrainian education development – to integrate it into the European education and research areas, as well as to intensify cooperation with EU member states and other candidate countries in education and science in order to use best practices and standards.
