Abstract
The theses substantiate that each new step in the socio-cultural development of any society always prompts the determination of the experience inherited from past generations in relation to its history. In addition, there is a direct relationship between the scale of socio-cultural tasks that society sets for itself and the depth and scope of comprehension of previous historical progress. The deeper the changes that are expected to be implemented, the more comprehensive and responsible the attitude towards historical experience should be. To forget or neglect this would mean building the building of the future on sand. That is, history is connected with memory, which overcomes relentless time, overcomes oblivion. It is shown that this is the extraordinary cultural significance of memory. It is impossible to penetrate one’s own history, to become a “historical people” by joining the world of European history through someone else’s interests. To do this, it is necessary to protect and honor our historical heritage, suffer from its plundering, and free it from stains, no matter what color they are, and from historical forgetfulness.
