Abstract
The article presents the results of a pilot empirical study of social parameters and individual indicators of intelligence of students in the context of modern social challenges. The sample consisted of students from general secondary, vocational pre-higher, and higher education institutions in Kyiv and other regions of Ukraine. A set of psychodiagnostic techniques was used: a test to determine stress levels (V. Shcherbatykh), a resource-oriented model of stress management BASIC Ph (M. Lakhad), a technique for diagnosing the real structure of value orientations (S. Bubnova), and a technique for studying emotional intelligence (N. Hall). It was shown that the majority of respondents have a high integral level of emotional intelligence, but partial scales revealed low scores for self-awareness, emotional self-regulation, self-motivation, and social influence. A significant prevalence of stressful states has been established: almost a third of the sample is in zones of severe and dangerous stress, combined with the dominance of cognitive coping strategies and insufficient use of emotional, social, creative, and physical resources. The structure of value orientations revealed the leading role of humanistic, leisure, and recognition values, as well as age differences between high school and university students. The results of the pilot study became the basis for further expansion of the diagnostic complex, as it will allow moving from fragmentary assessment of individual psychological characteristics to multidimensional, systematic diagnosis of social thinking of gifted youth. The addition of social intelligence tests (adapted by O. Mikhailova, TSIS questionnaire), intelligence tests (R. Kettell, Raven’s progressive matrices) and personality trait diagnostic tools (Leongard-Shmishchek, Big Five) will ensure comprehensive coverage of cognitive, motivational, emotional, characterological, and psychophysiological parameters of development. This approach will create a holistic view of the interrelationships between different levels of personality functioning, form a reliable empirical basis for further research into social parameters and individual indicators of intelligence, and open up the possibility of developing effective strategies for the development of social thinking in gifted students in the modern educational environment.
