Abstract
The handbook presents analytical syntheses of the findings from large-scale, representative public opinion surveys conducted by the Institute for Social and Political Psychology of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine in cooperation with the Association of Political Psychologists of Ukraine during 2023–2025, under the conditions of Russia’s full-scale aggression against Ukraine. The materials capture the dynamics of public moods, perceptions, and value orientations among Ukrainians in the context of national resistance, identity transformation, and the search for strategies for the country’s future development. Changes in public opinion are analyzed through the lens of several theoretical frameworks, including the Social Tension Model (M. Sliusarevskyi), the Optimal Threat Model (Ticchi & Vindigni), the Disaster Phases Model of Emotional Response (Zunin & Meyers), and the Rally-’Round-the-Flag effect (John E. Mueller). The handbook is intended for scholars, policymakers, representatives of central and local government authorities, journalists, analysts, and all those seeking a deeper understanding of the ongoing transformations of Ukrainian society in times of war.
