Abstract

The electronic learning course “The Regulatory and Legal Framework in the Field of Occupational Health and Safety and Life Safety in Educational Institutions” is aimed at developing knowledge and skills related to the key regulatory and legal aspects of occupational health and safety and life safety in vocational education institutions (VEIs). The course is adapted to reflect current legislative changes as of 2026, including the new Law of Ukraine “On Vocational Education” dated 21 August 2025 No. 4574-IX (entered into force on 12 September 2025), as well as the specific features of the educational process under martial law and in the context of post-war recovery. Course participants will have the opportunity to systematically familiarize themselves with the main legislative acts regulating safety and protection of all participants in the educational process, to understand the legal aspects of liability, risk management mechanisms, and practical tools for ensuring safety. The course covers an analysis of key laws, by-laws, regulations, and standards, and provides practical recommendations for their application in vocational education institutions (workshops, laboratories, vocational training, and dual education). The main emphasis is placed on improving the effectiveness of teaching and implementing occupational health and safety by teaching staff, creating a safe educational environment, and increasing learners’ interest in safety issues and injury prevention during training in vocational education institutions.
