Abstract

The article addresses the topical issue of forming the value unity of student youth in the border regions of Ukraine. It was prepared within the framework of the fundamental scientific research conducted by the Department of Education in the Border Region of the Institute of Problems of Education of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine. The purpose of the article is to reveal the essence of the value unity of student youth and to present the results of a nationwide survey conducted in 2025 by the research group of the Department of Education in the Border Region of the Institute of Problems of Education of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine. To achieve the purpose and objectives of the study, the following methods were used: theoretical (analysis, synthesis, comparison, generalization, and systematization); empirical (survey, ranking); and methods of mathematical statistics for processing and summarizing data. The article highlights the key aspects of the value unity of student youth and analyzes the scientific approaches and factors influencing its formation under modern conditions in Ukraine’s border regions. A set of problems is identified that require further attention to improve the process of shaping the value sphere of student youth, particularly their value unity as an important personal characteristic. The obtained research results will form the basis for a formative experiment within the framework of the fundamental scientific study, contributing to the qualitative renewal of content and the introduction of innovative forms, methods, and tools for developing the value unity of student youth in the face of modern challenges. The novelty of the study lies in defining the concept of “value unity of student youth” and comparing the value priorities of students, particularly in the border regions of Ukraine. The practical significance of the study lies in the possibility of using its materials in general secondary, extracurricular, and higher education institutions, as well as in the work of youth departments of state administrations and united territorial communities, public associations, and social services working with children and youth.
