Abstract

The article examines scientific and theoretical approaches to determining the content and mechanisms of moral and spiritual values of schoolchildren in wartime conditions. The purpose of the article is to study the scientific achievements on the issues of the formation of moral and spiritual values; analysis of the results of a survey of representatives of modern student youth in the western regions of Ukraine on the issues under study. The main tasks are defined as the study of scientific approaches to determining the content of moral and spiritual values; a description of the proposed mechanisms for the formation of moral and spiritual values of young students; updating the content of moral and spiritual values of modern young students in the system of value orientations (based on the results of a survey). To achieve the goal, a set of methods was used: analysis, synthesis, systematization, survey, and comparison. During the research, the source database on the research problem was analyzed, and a scientific comparison of approaches to understanding the content of moral and spiritual values and the mechanisms of their formation was conducted. A survey of young students (western regions of Ukraine: Zakarpattia, Chernivtsi, Lviv, Ternopil, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Rivne) was conducted on the problem of forming a unity of values, focusing on the spiritual and moral values of young students. The survey results were analyzed, and the relationship between the understanding of the content of moral and spiritual values as outlined in the scientific works of researchers and that of our respondents was established. Further research prospects are identified, in particular regarding the comparison of teachers’ and parents’ understanding of the content of moral and spiritual values, as well as the study of the specifics of students' moral and spiritual values in other regions of Ukraine. The novelty of the study lies in the experimental analysis of the meaningful understanding of moral and spiritual values by modern young students as an important component of the system of values in the environment of modern schoolchildren.
