Abstract
The article examines the concepts of self-knowledge, selfobservation, self-regulation, self-awareness, self-control, and self-evaluation as integral components of the process of personal self-development. Particular attention is given to the phenomenon of self-improvement, which is interpreted as a conscious form of human development carried out on one’s own initiative and characterized by purposefulness, subjectivity, continuity, and creative nature. Special emphasis is placed on a scientifically grounded approach to the process of self-improvement, which should be implemented in accordance with certain principles and rules.
