Abstract

The paper presents the results of the first stage of the fundamental scientific research of the Department of Comparative Education of the Institute of Pedagogy of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine ‘Integration Processes in the World, European and National Systems of General Secondary Education’ (2024-2025). In 2024, the study was aimed at providing Ukraine’s European integration processes with new knowledge about the concept, algorithm, technologies and challenges of integrating education into the European Education Area. The strategic goal of European cooperation in the area of education and training is described; the management instruments of EU policy are substantiated and the Framework Programme for European Cooperation in Education and Training for the period 2021-2030 is described as a key European integration instrument; the mechanisms for monitoring the progress of Member States in achieving EU indicators of integration into the European Education Area at the secondary level are revealed; the progress of European integration in the area of education and training in the unity of achievements at each stage is characterised. For Ukraine, in its systemic movement towards further European integration, it is important to have comprehensive knowledge of successful practices of education integration on the example of the leading states in this process and challenges on the example of the closest EU member states.
