Abstract

Modern man lives in a world defined by borders that have a direct impact on his identity, behavior and value orientations. As long as state, regional and ethnic interests exist, the space of human life will remain structured through demarcation lines. It is important to understand the borderland not only as the direct line of the state border, it encompasses the zone of daily interaction of the population, migration flows, cultural contacts and cross-border communication, which can reach tens of kilometers deep into the territory. Therefore, the presented materials are only one of many aspects of the borderland phenomenon. The study analyzes communities that have a direct common land state border with other countries (among 1469 communities of Ukraine, the subject of our analysis was the ZZSO in 154 territorial communities), since in conditions of martial law they are the first response zone and are most sensitive to internal and external challenges (according to the Ministry of Education and Science and the information portal "Decentralization"). The information and analytical materials collect data on territorial communities that directly border other states, the total population, the number of general secondary education institutions and students studying in them, which will allow us to identify spatial and statistical patterns and determine the educational potential of border regions.
