Abstract

The article examines the main aspects of the formation of the national and cultural identity of the younger generation through the prism of ethnopedagogy. The concept of “national and cultural identity” is considered with reference to the experience of domestic scientists, which allows a comprehensive assessment of existing approaches in this area. The relevance and expediency of using ethnopedagogical sources for the formation of national and cultural identity are substantiated, and it is emphasized that Ukrainian ethnopedagogy has a rich arsenal of tools for fostering a sense of belonging in the younger generation. The study thoroughly analyzes contemporary publications by leading Ukrainian scholars on the concepts of “national and cultural identity” and “ethnopedagogy,” which allows us to evaluate both historical and modern concepts of education of national identity. Considerable attention is paid to the need to integrate ethno-pedagogical sources into the educational process as an effective tool for implementing cultural, historical and patriotic values in the minds of young people. It is emphasized that the use of methods and techniques of Ukrainian ethnopedagogy contributes to the strengthening of national identity and the preservation of cultural traditions. Modern research not only clarifies the definitions of the concepts of “national and cultural identity” and “ethnopedagogy” but also demonstrates their effectiveness in the educational process. Education based on historical memory, truth, national ideals, and high self-awareness contributes to the formation of a stable national and cultural identity. Thus, the introduction of ethno-pedagogical approaches into school curricula is an urgent task for modern education. It not only enriches the educational process, but also acts as an effective tool in the formation of a strong national and cultural identity among the younger generation, contributing to the preservation and development of important traditions and values.
