Abstract
The article is devoted to the study of psychological factors of emotional burnout of psychologists who carry out post-COVID social and psychological rehabilitation in the conditions of war. The article points out that the negative consequences of helping professions are: emotional burnout, reduction of efforts, weakening of cognitive functions, vicarious trauma, etc. The author of the article determines that the manifestations of a psychologist’s ‘vicarious trauma’ are emotional exhaustion, cognitive changes, physical symptoms, and behavioural changes. The researcher considers the ‘Programme of a thematic special course on the methodology of partner supervision (intervision) for practical psychologists who carry out post-COVID social and psychological rehabilitation of participants in the educational process’. The article also reveals the powerful impact of intervention based on CBT. It was found that intervention based on behavioural therapy corrects the intervention plan presented by the interventionist in terms of behavioural analysis, choice of reinforcement and prediction of consequences The article determines that due to active intervention based on CBT, there is an increase in interests, and thus incentives to live; life is filled with meaning; the ability to synthesise – to see the connections between events and phenomena, understanding of people (including oneself), and thus the ability to forgive – is enriched; inner freedom and independence, responsibility taken voluntarily develop; love for the world and people (including oneself) is manifested, which means that a person grows personally. The article presents techniques, mostly meditative in nature, aimed at distancing oneself from rigid and restrictive self-definitions, developing the ability to accept one’s own thoughts and emotions without engaging in internal struggle, and making conscious choices that are in line with deep values.
