Abstract

Introduction. Ukrainians face increased environmental and epidemic threats as a result of the ongoing war, which increases the need for development of young people's psychological readiness to act in crisis situations. Aim: to analyze students' needs in the development of their psychological readiness to counter environmental and epidemic threats in wartime. Methods: a specially designed questionnaire, content analysis of open-ended responses, frequency analysis, cross-tabulation analysis (Pearson's χ²) to identify the relationships between students' socio-demographic and educational characteristics. Results. It was found that most respondents lacked operational skills, medical knowledge and information training; less attention was paid by students to the psychological component of their readiness to counter environmental and epidemic threats in wartime. Statistically significant differences were found in relation to students' gender, age, form of study and place of residence. Conclusions. The results obtained prove the need for comprehensive development of students' psychological readiness to counter environmental and epidemic threats in wartime in the education system - through the integration of knowledge, skills and the development of internal psychological resources.
