Abstract

The theses consider the phenomenon of the knowledge society as an environment of constant production and dissemination of information, which can have both a progressive and destructive impact on the development of society. The author focuses on the combination of socio-political and information risks that manifest themselves in wars, propaganda and disinformation, which leads to the loss of the population's ability to think critically and noospherically. The role of educational and scientific institutions in the formation of a thinking personality capable of analyzing, forecasting and making adequate decisions is emphasized. At the same time, there is a decrease in the motivation of young people to study, the outflow of qualified personnel abroad and the decline in the professionalism of the teaching staff, which increases the threats of information danger and social degradation. The author concludes that the development of critical and noospheric thinking is a key condition for stable social progress and the prevention of destructive processes.
