Abstract
The article examines self-improvement as a key condition for the professional and personal growth of educators. Drawing on the historical and pedagogical heritage of prominent Ukrainian thinkers and educators—including H. Skovoroda, M. Pirogov, K. Ushynsky, V. Sukhomlynsky, and L. Ukrainka — the study substantiates the importance of self-education, self-cultivation, and self-awareness in shaping the modern educator. It is demonstrated that engaging with the ideals of the past stimulates motivation for continuous self-development, inspires personal discipline, and encourages creative reflection on professional practice.
