Abstract

Within the framework of Civil Society Week, the Department of Psychology of Political Behaviour of Youth at the Institute of Social and Political Psychology of the National Academy of Educational Sciences (NAES) of Ukraine conducted a masterclass titled "National Pride" for students of the Pavlo Chubynsky Academy of Arts. The practical event was organized with the aim of activating the national-patriotic attitudes of young people. Visualization tools and group discussion methods were used. The practical session was held on 18th September 2025 by Senior Research Fellow Oksana Sknar, Head of the Department Iryna Ostapenko, and Senior Research Fellow Inna Diduk. A method from the arsenal of art therapy was chosen to actualise the national identification of the youth. Each group of students was invited to create their own medal (choose a shape, size), agree on its meaningful "filling" and apply colours, symbols, signs, and drawings to it that reflect their understanding and feeling of national pride. Through the use of art therapy tools, the methodology made it possible to identify the national achievements represented by the medals and to actualise the national self-identification of young people.
