Abstract

This paper analyzes the role of multimedia resources in the functioning of scientific digital libraries. Multimedia resources in scientific digital libraries are defined. The process of creating and distributing multimedia resources, technological platforms for their storage and management are highlighted. The tendencies of advantages, problems and challenges, as well as prospects for the development of multimedia resources are considered. It is concluded that multimedia resources are an integral part of modern digital libraries, significantly expanding their functionality and capabilities.
