Abstract
In the article, in the context of the competency-based approach to social adaptation, the concept of “social competence” is considered. Based on the analysis of key semantic units, modern scientific and pedagogical approaches to the issue of social adaptation and socialcompetence of children with intellectual disabilities are analyzed. The main directions of work on the formation of social competence and social adaptation in the conditions of the educational institution are determined.
