Abstract
The article examines the specific features of applying elements of comparative analysis during the study of George Byron's poem "I Would I Were a Grew Again" and Mykhailo Petrenko's poem "Why Am I Not a Falcon" in 9th-grade literature lessons. The main objective of using comparative analysis elements is defined as the disclosure of the ideological and aesthetic essence of each work based on the awareness of the spiritual unity of the ideas expressed in the poems and the national distinctiveness of their embodiment.
