Abstract

The theses focus on the formation of a conscious reader, the organization of independent reading of primary school students with instruction in the languages ​​of national minorities. In primary school, the foundations of reading, proper reading activity, reading interests, and reading culture are laid, which is subsequently reflected in the subsequent stages of a student's education. The development of independent reading skills is carried out not only in extracurricular reading lessons, but also during Ukrainian language and reading lessons. The theses present the results of a survey of students in schools with instruction in the languages ​​of national minorities regarding reading preferences.
