Abstract

The article is devoted to approaches to preventing and countering bullying in Ukrainian and international educational practice. The purpose of the article: to review approaches (programs) to prevent and overcome bullying and cyberbullying in foreign science and practice and to determine the possibilities of applying their components in the domestic educational environment. The main ideas of the most famous programs developed by foreign scientists and practitioners are highlighted: 1. The program developed by the Norwegian researcher of bullying D. Olveus (OBPP) is aimed at improving the functioning of the school environment, which helps to reduce the manifestations of bullying and prevent further cases. 2. The anti-bullying program KiVa involves systematic work with students, during which issues related to group interaction and group pressure, ways to resist bullying and support their peers-victims are revealed. 3. The NoTrap! program is a web-based anti-bullying program, which involves the active involvement of students in the development of a website and its work in order to popularize the fight against bullying. 4. The Vienna Program for Social Competence (ViSC), which aims to reduce the level of aggressive behavior and bullying, as well as the formation of social and intercultural skills in the school environment. 5. The ConRed program (the program “Knowing, Building, and Living Together on the Internet Program”) is aimed at combating cyberbullying, providing training for students, teachers, and parents in the correct use of the Internet and social networks. The main elements of the program “Prevention and Overcoming Bullying among Schoolchildren in the Digital Educational Environment” are disclosed, which is proposed to be used in the postgraduate education system of pedagogical personnel of Ukraine. The topics of the classes are given, and the approximate content of practical classes with teachers is proposed. The conclusions emphasize that, in order to prevent and combat bullying, pedagogical efforts should be directed, first of all, to creating conditions for the safety of students’ life in educational institutions, ensuring a positive psychological climate, and teaching all children social and emotional skills.
