Abstract

A new vision of historical memory as a representative form of reality, which acts as a dynamic system of semantic patterns of the past for human identification and the consolidation and stability of society, is presented. The main problems associated with the interpretation of national history during the times of independent Ukraine and the paradoxes of the implementation of historical memory in the conditions of Ukrainian realities are revealed. A strategy for the formation of a general-subject identity, consolidation and stability of Ukrainian society with direct state support for the policy and culture of historical memory is defined.
